realization
With Univ.-Prof. Dr. Dr. hc. Andrei Corbea-Hoisie and ao. Univ.-Prof. Dr. tit. Univ.-Prof. Dieter A. Binder internationally recognized experts will be attracted to locate these documents on the highest scientific level and provide an introduction to the themes Judaism and Antisemitism in the Bukovina and the Holocaust in Transnistria.
This project is of special significance, primarily because the documents to be presented are almost completely unknown today and thus would be made internationally available, furthermore to oppose the current trend of revisionist reinterpretation of the Romanian history and the denial of participation in the Holocaust, analogous to the “Auschwitz-Lie“ know as “Transnistria-Lie“, and to repel the currently burgeoning myth of Antonescu as the “savior of the Romanian Jewish community“.
The documents of the regional Archive Chernivci, divided in two files and 159 konvolutes, must be digitized at the highest technical level before the transcription of the letters - mostly written in German or Romanian - can commence. Afterwards this transcript would be translated into Ukrainian, Romanian, Hebrew and English to raise this almost forgotten region and the atrocities that took place for international discourse and set a monument for the victims, whose families are now dispersed across the globe..
